Dubai, UAE, 2 September 2018: The second edition of The Consultant Contractor Conference ( has confirmed participation from DLA Piper Middle East, AESG, EFECO (Arabtec), Proleed Engineering Consultants, Creara International, Ted Jacob Engineering Group, Mott MacDonald, Griffin Consultants, KEO International Consultants and Teletronics to add heft to the discussions.

Confirmed speakers from the government sector include, Hind AlMutawa, Director of Productivity and Demand Side Management Department, Chief Innovation Officer, UAE Ministry of Energy & Industry; Anwaar Al Shimmari, Director – Design Department, Chief Innovation Officer, UAE Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Redha H. Salman, Director, Health & Safety Department, Dubai Municipality.

The conference will serve as a common platform for government representatives, MEP consultants and MEP contractors to discuss pressing concerns, such as lopsided drafting of contracts, payment delays and cashflow issues. Despite a rise in the number of contracts being put out to tender, UAE’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) sector is yet to meet growth expectations for this year. More transparency is required, when a MEP contractor or supplier takes on a job. Other challenges include longer time span between converting tenders into awards, owing to protracted negotiations and discussions, and a need for open communication between developers and main contractors during the duration of a project.
