Dubai, UAE, 4 April 2018: The UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has extended its patronage to the fifth edition of the World IEQ Forum, to be held on May 3 in Dubai. Aisha Al Abdooli, Director, Green Development, UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, will be inaugurating the conference, which seeks to address the critical need for balancing the requirement for high energy efficiency, as a vital parameter for building performance, with good indoor air quality.

The Forum, produced by CPI Industry, the publishers of Climate Control Middle East magazine, is the only dedicated conference that looks at Indoor Environmental Quality through the prism of the HVAC Industry. The fifth edition of the Forum will primarily discuss the various possibilities that exist for reducing ventilation demand, coupled with the use of renewable clean energy, to accommodating the twin aspirations of energy efficiency and good indoor air quality. It will also discuss the critical role of air filtration and the initiatives being rolled out to improve indoor environmental quality in educational institutions, hotels and malls, among other building types.

“For long, proposals calling for more fresh air changes in the built-environment have been met with strong resistance from consultants and other stakeholders, who have pointed out that doing so would set back efforts aimed at achieving greater energy efficiency, which would not only increase costs but would also lead to greater indirect emissions,” said Surendar Balakrishnan, Co-Founder & Editorial Director, CPI Industry. “Recent developments in clean renewable energy, though, could possibly offer a way out of the sticky situation in the near future. The Forum is a grand opportunity for discussing the alluring possibilities.”

To date, the Forum has confirmation of participation from other government agencies, world-leading authorities on indoor air quality, end-users from multiple sectors and consultants from the region and elsewhere.
